How does the Sleep Cycle track my daily activity?
Sleep Cycle automatically measures your daily activity based on the number of steps taken since your last sleep session. This data is collected through Apple Health (iOS) or Google Fit (Android).
How to Connect Sleep Cycle with Apple Health (iOS)
To enable step tracking on iOS, follow these steps:
1. Go to Settings > Health > Sources > Sleep Cycle.
2. Tap Allow Sleep Cycle to read data and enable Steps.
3. Open Sleep Cycle and go to Profile tab > More > Apple Health.
4. Make sure it says “Connected”.
Disabling Step Tracking on iOS
If you don’t want Sleep Cycle to track your steps, go to:
Settings > Privacy > Motion & Fitness > Turn Sleep Cycle off.
Important Note for Apple Health Users
Sleep Cycle collects step data directly from Apple Health and cannot manually add steps after a closed session. If the step data was not correctly received during the night, it won’t be added to your sleep journal.
To check if the step data was recorded properly:
1. Open Apple Health > Steps > Show All Data.
2. Select a specific day and make sure the timestamps for steps are logged before your sleep session ends.
How to Connect Sleep Cycle with Google Fit (Android)
Sleep Cycle now supports Google Fit integration for activity tracking. To enable it:
1. Open Sleep Cycle and go to Profile > More > Google Fit.
2. Enable the integration.
3. Open Google Fit and go to Profile > Settings > Manage Connected Apps to ensure Sleep Cycle is connected.
Important Note for Google Fit Users
Like Apple Health, Sleep Cycle collects step data from Google Fit when your sleep session closes. If the step data is missing when your session ends, it cannot be added afterward.
To check if the step data was received correctly:
1. Open Google Fit > Steps.
2. Select a specific day and ensure the timestamps for steps were recorded before your sleep session ended.
