Are you sharing a room or bed with someone else? No worries! We can still track your sleep accurately and effectively, though it can be a bit more challenging if the other person makes more or louder noises than you.
If you feel the tracking isn’t as accurate as you’d like, here are some tips you can try out!
- If you are both premium users on iOS we have the feature 'partner link' that helps the app separate you both. (instructions for this feature are down below!)
- If you are a premium user on iOS we also have the feature 'who's snoring' that helps the app separate you and your partner's snores.
- If your partner talks in their sleep, coughs, or makes any other noise that isn't you, you can label these sounds as 'other' so the sounds are not tracked as you.
- Try out both motion detections and see what works best for you, if your partner makes a lot of noise etc the accelerometer as motion detection might be the better option.
iPhone
Sleep Cycle works well for two persons sharing a bed using microphone motion detection. When both you and a partner are connected to the same Wi-Fi, you will automatically link with each other, providing a much more accurate sleep analysis.
Sound decays exponentially with distance, this means that sounds generated by your partner will have a much lower volume than sounds generated by you. And when you are linked over Wi-Fi, Sleep Cycle will be able to locate where the sound originates from.
