Can I track sleep using both my iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time?
Yes! With iOS 18 and WatchOS 11, you can track your sleep simultaneously using your iPhone and Apple Watch. Combining data from both devices allows for a more accurate sleep analysis.
How do I enable simultaneous tracking?
To use this feature, make sure you meet the following requirements:
• Your iPhone is updated to iOS 18.
• Your Apple Watch supports and is running WatchOS 11.
• Your Sleep Cycle app is updated to the latest version.
Once everything is updated, follow these steps:
1. Start the sleep session on your Apple Watch first.
2. Open the Sleep Cycle app on your iPhone.
3. A pop-up will appear, asking if you want to sync the phone and watch tracking.
4. Confirm the sync and both devices will track your sleep together.
5. In the morning, your sleep data will be combined into a more accurate sleep report.
What if my devices don’t support iOS 18 or WatchOS 11?
Suppose your iPhone or Apple Watch doesn’t support these latest updates. In that case, you can still use both devices simultaneously, but there are some limitations:
• Sleep Cycle prioritizes your iPhone’s data, as it provides more details, such as sound recordings.
• The app will not combine data from your watch and phone.
• The Apple Watch alarm will still work, but the sleep report will be based only on your iPhone’s data.
Because of these limitations, using both devices on older software versions won’t provide additional benefits. If you want full combined tracking, upgrading to iOS 18 and WatchOS 11 is recommended.
